Workplace violence training, how to control and prevent it.
This is a human resources workshop that will assist companies in meeting the WSIB requirements
for their “Workplace Specific Hazards Training”. The workshop assists
employers in recognizing and eliminating incidences and associated losses
related to workplace violence. By helping individuals and teams identify
workplace violence, such as rage and threats, assess situations, and make recommendations, prevention
and control of workplace hazards before they become evident.
Course
Objectives: Participants Will:
- Be provided
with definitions and examples of workplace violence and how it
can to injury or illness.
- Be able to
recognize and evaluate violence in the workplace in order to become
more pro-active as opposed to re-active. Pro-action comes through
understanding current and relevant legislation, guidelines and
standards for dealing with violence in the workplace.
- Be able to
detect and highlight warning signs of potential violence and consequences
if these signs go unchecked.
- Be able to
create an action plan by learning how to identify, assess and
control workplace violence based on course information and examples.
