TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS

 

Objective:

Assists employers to company with the training requirements of The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act. To instruct participants with respect to the requirements of the legislation for receiving, handling, transporting, or shipping dangerous goods. Prepare participants for emergency situations such as spills or accident.

Legislative requirements
  • Key definitions and sections
  • Classifications for the 9 classes of Dangerous Goods
  • Safety markers, labels and placards for packages, trucks and large containers
  • Documentation, bills of lading and other required information
  • Requirement for hazardous waste and disposal of empty containers
  • Review & discuss some site specific "dangerous goods" materials
  • This program uses a combination of lecture, audiovisual material and interactive workshops to encourage participants involvement.
  • How Long Does It Take?: Four (4) hours

    Who Should Attend: Shippers / Receivers and material handlers, both workers and supervision. Truck drivers. Joint Health and Safety Committee members.

    Investment:

    $500.00 per session + $10.00 per participant for materials +GST. Price includes theoretical training, and learner evaluation.
